Mission statement
The Asheville High School Cougar Boosters is a registered 501c(3) organization of parents, staff, alumni, and friends linked by a common desire to support the student athletes of our school. Our primary purpose is to aid and encourage the development of the AHS athletic program both financially and as volunteers in its activities. We strive to enrich every student’s high school experience by promoting school spirit and encouraging athletic participation.
Corporate Business:
501 c(3) The Booster Club is current with the NC Secretary of State as a non-profit in good standing
By-Laws Current By-laws were written in 2000. The may have been adopted as written, but they have not been modified. Conversations with past board members (including founding members) said they were created to “check a box” for incorporation.
The corporate documents need to be kept with the executive board, as well as on file with the school. They should be considered public documents.

. Insurance A general liability insurance policy is held by the Booster Club, and is renewed annually. The treasurer currently holds this information.

The Booster Club adds approximately $30,000 to the Athletic Director’s budget annually.

$10 per year per family - voting rights/ sport passes not included

$75 Individual Cougar pass - voting rights/ single, non-transferrable pass to all 2016-2017 regular season home games
$225 New-Family Cougar pass - voting rights/ non-transferrable passes(for immediate family members) to all 2016-2017 regular season home games
$125 Renewable Family Cougar pass for second year and on Cougar Club members - retains all privileges of Family Cougar Pass

Membership to the Booster Club is primarily a fundraiser. The initial benefit of becoming a member is to receive entrance to all home sport events. The long term benefit is to add to the Booster’s bottom line to support the Booster’s mission.

- Nancy notes that membership has stayed the same for years. Our Booster pass is a bargain. Some schools do a $50 student pass. AHS does a $75 student pass.
- Coach Sonita suggested need for a student pass for current students only for $50
- Discussed ideas for a student pass that can’t be passed around
- Need a way to make all booster passes more secure
